Spacehive

Posted April 28, 2016
At the recent Kensington & Chelsea Chamber of Commerce event at the Museum of Brands, members were introduced to the civic crowdfunding movement, Spacehive, taking place in the borough.

Why should you get involved?

From transforming empty shop fronts into light installations or creating pop-up markets on quiet streets, civic projects attract people to the area, which is naturally great for business. When the community crowdfunded a giant water slide for Bristol's high street, it generated £120k in additional revenue for businesses in the area in just one day.

How do you get involved?
  1. Follow The Kensington and Chelsea Hive to keep up-to-date with the latest projects happening in your area.
  2. Back a project with either cash, stuff, or skills. Check out the Venture Kinds Carnival which has just started fundraising here.
  3. Spread the word. Share this link with your network using Twitter, Facebook, and email, and help catalyse positive change throughout the borough.
  4. Get in touch with Spacehive to find out how you can create your own collective pot and drive transformation in your area.
Spacehive offers a powerful way for you to support the communities you touch whilst strengthening your brand reputation amongst customers and attracting greater footfall to the area. So why not see how it can make a difference to your business?

As mentioned, the local Venture Centre have just begun their crowdfunding journey, and are looking for businesses to support their project to get 40 of their kids to appear at this year’s Notting Hill Carnival.  Local businesses are being encouraged to back this project and anything above £250 will enable their branding to appear on the float or on the t-shirts.
