From 1 April 2017 it became an offence to buy alcohol for onward sale or supply from an unapproved UK wholesaler.

The Alcohol Wholesale Registration Scheme (AWRS) was introduced to help HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) tackle alcohol fraud.

Any business buying alcohol from a UK wholesaler for onward sale or supply to their customers will need to check that their wholesaler has been approved by HMRC under AWRS.

The Childcare Business Grants Scheme has been introduced to boost the provision of childcare in England and to incentivise entrepreneurship. It encourages and supports the starting up of new childcare businesses by providing a flat rate start-up grant.

The scheme is now open to newly registered early years childminders, childcare providers on domestic premises and Childminder Agencies in England.
